St. Francis of Bellingham, an Avamere community, has been providing award-winning skilled nursing care to residents of Northwest Washington for nearly a quarter century. Located adjacent to the St. Joseph Hospital campus, St. Francis provides a safe, comfortable, environment that residents can call home. The beautifully landscaped campus is situated in a quiet neighborhood on Squalicum Parkway, easily accessible via East Sunset Drive off Interstate 5.
Residents needing long-term care will find a wing devoted exclusively to their particular needs, with a highly qualified recreation staff furnishing stimulating activities on a daily basis. Thanks to St. Francis’ on-site childcare facility, there are regular intergenerational activities benefiting both the children and the residents.
St. Francis also provides short-term care with the goal of restoring the highest level of function possible, whether it be a return to complete independence or to assisted living. The facility’s association with Avamere-owned Infinity Rehab assures top-quality services along with a well-trained staff. Both inpatient and outpatient therapy services are available.
Patient Directed Care is the standard at St. Francis. Every resident is offered as many choices as possible with regard to meals and activities, thus encouraging the highest possible level of independence. The caring and compassionate staff is devoted to making residents feel like honored guests.
The dedication to continuous improvement in quality of care has resulted in St. Francis being one of just 23 skilled nursing facilities in the nation to win the Step II Quality Award from the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living. In addition to serving its residents, St. Francis also partners with a number of non-profit organizations dedicated to improving life in the greater community.
St. Francis is a pet-friendly facility and encourages visiting from both four-legged and two-legged friends. The best time to visit is usually between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Immediate family or other relatives are not subject to visiting hour limitations or other restrictions unless imposed by the resident. St. Francis provides 24-hour access to other non-relative visitors who are visiting with the consent of the resident. These other visitors are subject to reasonable restrictions.
