Oregon Respite Care: We Will Share in the Support of Your Loved One
Whether you care for your mother on a twenty-four hour basis, or you check in on your father on an hour a day basis, you know that it can be stressful. No matter how much you play the caregiver, it is taxing. It's wonderful to have your aging loved one close to you, yes, but how much is too much? Researchers have recently realized the immense amount of stress that can be put on a family member acting as a caregiver at home. There are some things you need to keep in mind when taking care of your loved ones:
- Don't ignore your personal needs
- Keep up your nutrition, and make time for exercise or physical activity
- Make sure you get enough sleep
- Utilize local respite care facilities
Take Some Time For You - You Deserve It
St. Francis of Bellingham offers Washington respite care for up to several months, allowing both parties to have some time away to gain a sense of independence and uniqueness. We take in anyone, as long as we have beds available. When your loved one arrives, we'll encourage them to socialize and partake in daily activities with their peers. Short-term care at our facility is often thought of as a vacation for the seniors, and they look forward to returning.
While you get rest and rejuvenate yourself, you can be positive that your loved one is receiving the best care possible at our Washington respite care center.
